Our Impact
The United Way team and Board of Directors are constantly looking for ways to help improve lives in Otter Tail County. Listed are updates from initiatives of United Way. Some initiatives are in-house programs, while others are committees United Way supports as fiscal host or through their participation by serving on an advisory group or committee.

FamilyWize Prescription Discount Program
As of April, 2012 Otter Tail County Residents have saved $190,402.50 on their prescriptions. |
Friends of Friends Fighting Hunger in Otter Tail County
Distributions exceeding $70,000 were given to Otter Tail County Food Pantries, Food Drops and Feeding Backpack Programs in March.

Coats for Kids
Over 220 coats and 4,000 accessories have been donated so far this year! We will accept gently used coats, hats, mittens and scarves for families in need this fall! |
Stamp Out Hunger
On May 14th of last year communities set out over 8,500 pounds of non-perishables for local postal carriers. Those donations will be delivered to the local food shelves. May 12th will be the date of collection for 2012.

Stuff the Bus
Backpacks were filled for over 670 Otter Tail County children who are in need of supplies for the 2011-2012 school year. Applications for the 2012-2013 school year are now available. |
Early Childhood Dental Network
Oral Health Care Outreach Clinics are now scheduling in Fergus Falls, Pelican Rapids and Perham. |

Project Community Connect & Rural Food Drops
1,657 individuals were connected to community resources and given food in 2011. This year sites are set up in Perham, Battle Lake and Fergus Falls. |
Feeding Backpack Program
Otter Tail County Family Services Collaborative and United Way are coordinating a feeding backpack program to youth K-6, placing food in backpacks of hungry kids each Friday in all of our school districts! |
